Kramnik and Kasparov analyze (in Russian) their twelfth round draw from Wijk aan Zee, 2000 (game 455 in Informant #77--actually a pretty good game, you should check it out). Meanwhile, Yuri Dokhoian enjoys a mineral water...

  • Meanwhile, Yuri Dokhoian enjoys a mineral water...

Haha. I always wanted to know....is he Armenian? Also, do you know if this was BEFORE or AFTER the world championship.

  • This was in January of 2000, so about 10 months before their match for the crown. At this point, Kramnik had not been named as the challenger... they may have still been trying to work something out with Shirov.

As for Dokhoian being Armenian, I'm not sure. All the sources I have just say "Russian".

  • Yes! He is Armenian, now representing Russia.

  • This video is great fun, as both players talk at the same time--non stop...

  • This is one cool video!

  • @dustball3010 the fat dude is yuri dokhoian, a grandmaster...

  • I can assure you, folks, their speech is not quite interesting to translate, just a typical analysis of possibilities how the blacks (Kasparov) could act. That doesn't really differ from ordinary chessplayers.

But the comments are very amazing!!! :)

  • lawwl sounds so aggressive

  • Классный анализ партии!

  • 1:35 Garry: "no motherfucker you're wrong, huh fool!"

  • I love when kasparov makes that Mafia boss face 0:28 and like saying "Move that piece and ill fucking kill you"
