Yes these muppets r making a pigs ear of it but there is nothing a car by the top of the A-Posts so long as the car's going for scrap, ive done it 100's of times ;)

Should this not be equipped with a vehicle lifting frame and wheelclamps Which is the only safe way to recover a car with a crane.This is used for illegal parkers so why is it not mandatory for all crane recovery?

The crane will be continually stopping because the boom's too far out and sensors will be going crazy with the weight, it should've been straight and the boom pulled in!
Ok yeah just saw where the slings are too!! XD
I've got concrete cylinders to take off tomorrow...think I might just use ONE chain+pin to save time XD

If any of our lads (or any other professional recovery outfit) recovered a vehicle in this manner, they'd get a mega bollocking for it, if not sacked. Proper cowboys, breaking every rule in the book.
