Part 6 of 6 of Tom Clark's speech to the Freethought Association of West Michigan on February 9, 2005
This video's topic is Naturalism: The Next Step for Humanists? It was presented by Tom Clark (who is the Director of the Center for Naturalism in Boston) to the Freethought Association of West Michigan. The Center for Naturalism is an educational non-profit organization devoted to increasing public awareness of scientific naturalism and its implications for personal and social well-being. The CFN (http://Naturalism.org/Center_for_Naturalism) seeks to foster the idea that human beings are fully caused, entirely natural phenomena, and that human flourishing is best achieved in light of such understanding.

Has anyone been to Tom Clark's philosophy cafe on the Harvard campus? If this video is any indicator, I think those would be some amazing meetings to attend!

getting rid of the ancient notions of soul does not equal determinism unless, you equate soul and consciousness, which i do not. The science of consciousness is still evolving, per Daniel Dennet, Sam Harris etal. Seems to me consciousness and free will exist and can be decribed scientifically and biologically.
