My S-9 has a very nice receiver. No static noise at all very quiet and never use the NB. Would be hard to part with it. My other favorites is the Connex 4800 and Cobra 148 GTL DX+. Receiver is so quiet you can hear miles out. All round great performers and a perfect match to 2879 x 4.

Why would I try a 2950 or 2970? The Lincoln is the best SSB radio ever built. I need to take a 10-2000 in your mouth. 10-4!

Then you should try a 2950 DX or 2970DX. You can't find a better SSB radio for the money.

I never bought one of these POS radios. I have had a president lincoln for 20 years that is stable as can be. I was just looking for something new to play with. I stuck with my lincoln.

I hope you did not get one of these! If you want a great SSB radio then get a 2950 or 2970DX.
Magnums drift like hell and have a very very noisy receive and cost way to damn much for what they are!
Hell you can get a new 2970DX with more power and better performance for less than an S9.

WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO FIX THE NOISY ASS RECEIVE IN THESE THINGS!!!
And dont even try the "well if it has been set up correctly it will have a clean receive" crap because i know better! Strykers are the same as well!
These radios have the best audio quality of any radio i have heard but the receive kills them for me! Fix the receive in them,stop being cheap on your parts and your sales numbers will go up up up!
