OOOPS!! REWRITE!!!! My uncle John Schonberger actually wrote both the music and lyrics for Whispering long before Coburn and Rose came into the picture and used it for the movie Greenwich Village.

@dupontsister2 Thank you for letting me know. Having done considerable searching and regardless of finding lots of instances of Rose & Coburn being given writing credit for this song I am sure you are right and they will be removed forthwith. I do, however, have info that states that the lyrics were written by Malvin Schonberger, not John. I presume he is another relative. Is this correct? Written in 1920 before Greenwich Village came out in 1944 causing all the writing confusion on the web.
