It pumps the blood around within which those chemical reactions take place but... how does it trigger them? I'm not trying to discredit the idea, it just seems nonsense to me.

They act independently and heart responds to information, but how does that constitute anything of an intellect? Please enlighten me. This guy seems to jump, to my uneducated eye, from medical facts to some new-age beliefs nonsense. What is he actually suggesting? That the heart is a second brain making decisions for us? Please enlighten me, how is this possible. What aspects of our decisions then? Emotions perhaps? How does the heart trigger the chemical reactions that are emotions then?

Explain to me how the heart is SUDDENLY from becoming an important contributor to the decisions made by the brain to the source of our higher values and emotions? In the brain lies the intellect... and that intellect may well make decisions based on information from the heart. That does not suggest that the heart contains those decisions ffs. We don't say that our morals come from out nerves because they send friggin' signals to the brain. The heart is a huge lump on those very nerves.
