True story... Because I didn't have a radio, I wasn't too clear on how it worked. I always thought that when the announcer said "And now we have The Beatles playing 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand'..." It was The Beatles playing the song down at the station. I couldn't understand why my friends who were real fans weren't going crazy and wanting to run down to the station.

My parents always had all sorts of music available to me as a kid. Of course, we didn't have a radio or tv until I was in my teens so I wasn't exposed to pop music except through my friends. But when I was little, my mother was a teacher so all the babysitters played rock music so I got to hear everything, really. I listened to jazz, World music, folk, country... everything. It widens your horizons.

Sounds like you had a childhood many would want, i only wish i knew then what i know now......

You're not the only one. I'm 23 now, but I was always made fun of for liking music like this. I think kids really miss out when they don't even give it a try.
