Thanks for the great video, it is just what I was looking to accomplish when I select a cabinet. You saved me time with your idea for the conversion; I think I'll follow it closely b/c my situation is like yours, a couple long guns and more room needed for smaller stuff. A clever and frugal idea (frugal is a good thing).

Nice work! I saw one of these cabinets at a gun show and now that I see the modifications you've done I am considering buying one. Thanks for the video!

I just converted one of these cabinets two days ago into an ammo storage cabinet. I used 3/8 plywood with 1x2 supports on the sides and back. I also made a false floor in the bottom that can be removed to hide small things under. Works great!!!. I plan to glue felt on the shelves to make it look nicer and to keep from getting possible splinters.

I just bought this one the other day. The plastic shelf can seem a bit flimsy, but it goes bolted twice to both sides of the unit with staked nuts. It can hold up to twenty 25 round 12 gauge boxes easily. The plastic shelf has an elevation on both sides so that nothing might fall.
I'm currently taking advantage of the space behind the shelf to slide the end of my shotgun carrying case through. It works like a charm.
It's a tough cab
I bolted mine down. This baby ain't moving.

Like Aneid, I used the inside of the door for handgun storage. But I didn't use pegboard. I used a Rack 'Em 8 gun in-safe door handgun rack. It was meant to be installed in a safe - not a cabinet, but I was able to cut it up and use the pieces to build something usable.

And last, I added one of those push-button lights, and two dehumidifier. In the future, I plan on hardening the closet the cabinet is located in. Again, love your post, thanks!

Just finished my own Stack On 8 Gun Cabinet installation. I have more long guns versus hand guns, but I appreciate what you did to your Stack On. Too many good ideas, including yours, to incorporate in one gun cabinet. Thanks for the video!
