thanks man for the video. I was playing the intro incorrectly, this version looks correct and it's much easier.

Honestly, and no disrespect....
Play the entire song, and then go back and explain the parts...we really are not interested in all that talk at the beginning....thanks though

hi guys, after watching a lot of yusufs1cats videos, like the video clip one.

wow never realized it was a hammer on..not a strum
Sorry my comment came off that way. I didn't take offense at all. Everyone interprets songs a little differently. I'm a go with the way it moves you kinda guy and that's why small changes like that don't always mean too much to me. If this were classical music and very rigid, I'd say differently. I appreciate you taking time to comment and thank you for doing so. Peace

@jfunique The way I look at it, is that songs are to be interpreted by whomever is playing them and so long as the basics of the song are in line, who cares if it's Dadd2, Dsus2, Bm etc etc etc. I have people playing songs I wrote at gigs and could care less what they use as long as it doesn't change the song. If you like it, do it. If people want to hear something exactly the same, they need to buy the original CD. The purpose of this was to only help build a frame of reference. Thx

@musicman257 If you want to get technical, Cat/Yusuf is really playing a C Chord. (see 1:19 of this video youtube.com/watch?v=4cpX1ZjuaiA). I mentioned in my notes that there are actually two guitars playing this song and Cat/Yusuf doesn't even play the little riff after the G to C change. The manner in which you were taught works, but in my opinion sounds thin and incomplete. Remember that this lesson is trying to do with one guitar what Cat/Yusuf is doing with two.
