DARLENE GILLESPIE - I WONDER

Beautiful, beautiful rendition of the song used in Walt Disney's "Sleeping Beauty". Have loved this version since I got the LP in 1959. Disney studios should have put alot of interest in maturing Darlene's career after the Mickey Mouse Club left the air...but oh well..Enjoy!!

@jonsaguard It's very hard to find Darlene Gillespie recordings. You can see and hear her on the original Mickey Mouse club. Besides the Sleeping Beauty album, she also recoded several songs from Alice in Wonderland (these are available on iTunes).

I don't really know why Disney Studios didn't put more effort into promoting Darlene, but it seems like they put all the concentration on ANNETTE who was so popular with viewers. I would say the two most popular Gal mouseketeers were indeed Annette and Darlene - I think they could have worked harder to find some projects for Darlene to do after The Mickey Mouse Club.

This is great by Darline. I tried to find some of her Daline Valentine Country Music with no luck. I wish her well today and hope she is free of her X.

Many of the records uploaded here on YouTube (like "I Wonder") appear to be professionally done and I do not know how it is done. Sorry! You probably know more about this than I do and I will patiently wait until the day that "I'm Wishing" is uploaded here! :)

I have never heard this rendition before!! Very Beautiful!! Way back in 1958, my sister and I got the 45 rpm record containing the song "I'm Wishing" by Darlene Gillespie & Vocal Group. Have you ever heard her rendition of it? It is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and, even though I haven't heard it in over 40 years, I still can hear Darlene's version of "I'm Wishing" in my mind when I think about it. I Wish that someone would post it. Her version is magnificent!
