I've never gone through a divorce like you have but I remember from what my mom experienced after she divorced my dad in '77 that it was similar to some of what you described.

I've also heard that some married couples feel awkward around divorced people because the quietly fear they might be next (which is silly, really). I mean it's not a freakin' cold, right?
