Brain Music Therapy is a scientifically supported treatment that transcribes your own unique brain waves and translates them into unique musical compositions. By listening to these compositions, you can efficiently move your brain into relaxed or alert states. Brain Music Therapy has been shown to be as effective as sleep medication in helping people get to sleep. It has spread through Russia, Europe and Canada, attracting thousands of clients, and finally came to the U.S. two years ago through New York psychiatrist Galina Mindlin. Dr. Orli Peter is the only provider of Brain Music Therapy in Southern California, and was the first to bring it to the west coast.

  • and hope you do, too. It has been around for over 16 years with strickingly positive results, has growing research support, and is provided only by a select sample of licensed health care providers.

  • You talking about how there's very little to no money being made off of this sort of therapy, that relieves about half of my skepticism and anger from this therapy.

If you're making claims of relaxation and possibly better sleep, that's one thing.

If you start charging a bunch of money, and saying it cures cancer, my blood pressure will go through the roof.

I'm not against alternative treatments, I'm against alternative truths when it comes to the effectiveness.. Time will tell I guess.

  • Yes, I agree it is very important to investigate claims made by people who are trying to "sell" a product or procedure. I would recommend checking the research support for the procedure, talking to others who have have already tried the product or procedure, and assuring the practioner who would be providing the procedure is reputable. I think BMT is one of the procedures that is worth trying!

  • Dr Peter, have there been any publications made based on this therapy? I would be very interested in reading them.

  • Yes, there has been research conducted at the Moscow Medical Academy, University of Toronto, and other European countries. Since Brain Music recently came to the U.S., Homeland Security has become interested in its effectiveness and is currently testing it.

  • The professional background required to provide it is also very different. For instance, I have a doctorate, two postdocs, and various certifications in psychology and neuroscienceWe do a psychological evaluation and design psych/neuropsych treatment that is tailored to each person. Hope that helps you understand the difference, and thanks for asking the question!

  • Good informative video :) I'm looking into buying one of these systems, wheres the best place to order one?

    thanks

  • What i am confused is, yes, our brains may transmit signals at certain frequencies but we can trigger our brains and manipulate them via music? Now this brings up 2 issues 1) this implies that consciousness and internal cognition can be controlled via conditioning 2) are our auditory senses the only things that can shape the brain, i figure what you can do with one sense you can do with another sense. So if i started seeing images at some certain hertz, my brain can be relaxed?

  • How exactly are these tracks composed according with the EEG information?

  • now that u mention homeland security i will never EVER try that, they will take it and use it again the people somehow, those pieces of garbage

  • Thanks I had a look around and found a few of the articles, it's very interesting. I'm an EEG hobbyist and find the potential for producing music from EEG very interesting, I didn't know it had therapeutic potential.
