I don't care about "hits." What this music does is move my OLD soul and body, age nearing 70.

The man is poet with a marginal voice that makes the poetry sound all the better.

I'm a soul man, and this is some of the finest soul music made and preformed, blue-eyed or otherwise. Dripping with class.

This is Steve Winwood on vocals (not Capaldi) and features the great Andy Newmark on drums. Classy drum part.
-
I believe Jim Capaldi is the vocalist?

To my taste, this is best song Steve has written..this is the song i love the most. Actually i love all his work

@piscesman54 And he never had major problems with drugs or booze.
Was there ever an official video made for this song? I know it was a minor hit for Steve back in its time.

winwood has a whole house full of unknown or overlooked songs like that. . .some of my faves are there's a river, vacant chair, mozambique, different light, and about a dozen other amazing works of musical art. this whole album was more than just rewards for a lifetime love of winwood music and it's still growing.

Was lucky enough to see him live in Brighton a couple of weeks ago. The voice just hasn't changed and his mastery of the Hammond is, if anything enhanced. He opened with 'Different Light', guitar played by the same Jose Neto as on the album. Incredible band and a terrific gig.
