The Leeches were a Chicago "Punk" band from the early to mid-'80s, performing a blend of raw R&B, Reggae, and rock 'n' roll. This is a brief slice of where they came from including the context of politics and culture of the era. They played many shows at the Cabaret Metro, Cubby Bear, Club Stodola, Club Dreamerz, The West End, Phyllis' Musical Inn, Batteries Not Included and Exit, among other Chicago rock clubs.

  • What's your band? It's not clear in the video, but The Leeches disbanded in January of 1988 and fulfilled the remaining half-dozen shows in our commitment as Herr Helmut, with the same people plus more.
