Biofuels, once hailed as the answer to everything from energy security to greenhouse gas emissions, are now surrounded by controversy and questions. Key among these questions is what impact biofuels have on the food supply.

In Cows and Cars, Austin Healey - rugby legend, ballroom dancer and entrepreneur - takes a journey to explore how this often divisive issue is being resolved in East Yorkshire, where Vivergo Fuels is building a plant that will use over a million tonnes of wheat every year to produce over 400 million litres of bioethanol .

Along the way he meets environmentalist and campaigner Tony Juniper, Jeremy Woods - Britain's foremost authority on bioenergy - as well as a host of local characters involved in the UK's biggest renewable fuels project. He finds a solution that may point in the direction of a more resilient future.
