Just saw Kottke in Santa Cruz and was hoping he'd do "Eight Miles High" for all of us gray-haired children. He was wonderful (as usual). Thank you for posting this video!

Amazing...the only word for it. How someone could have hit the 'dislike' on this just goes to show: some people should not be allowed to do complex things...like listening to great music.

Originally recorded on Leo's 1971 release Mudlark. Leo must have liked that polo shirt. He wore it for the cover photo of the Chewing Pine album.

Anyone who tackles playing this Byrds tune, and taking it to a different level, deserves an accolade, Leo is certainly a one-off, his voice even sounds great in this.

You can get this great rendition on Leo's *Anthology* CD -- I've had it for years and this tune gets a lot of play. It's all terrific stuff. Who would have ever suggested this song for him to play? Amazing.

Awesome guitar..Especially on a 12 string!

I heard this song before!

Leo deserves to be thought of in the same league with the Hendrix's, the Django's, and the Segovia's when people think of the greatest guitar players to ever live.
