This is a view of the "Haditha Triad" region of Iraq's Al Anbar Province, as seen from an open door of a USMC UH-1N "Huey" of HMLA-269 ("The Gunrunners"). This is a Mixed section, of a UH-1N and an AH-1W SuperCobra. Shot by Ed Darack, a still photographer working on a comprehensive photographic overview of the 2nd Marine Air Wing (Forward) for Smithsonian Air and Space Magazine.
I LOVE how they have all new toys now!!! I got out in 2000, and I had the Gau 17 which was notorious for jamming due to it being electric. They were talking about making a 4 bladed huey.....have they released that bad boy yet?

I highly doubt the USMC has the M134 yet. Try the GAU - 17.

they got twin huey's in Iraq and Afghanistan huh! my government (canada) is a joke. they said our CH-146 Griffons(4 bladed Bell 412EP) were unable to operate effectively in Afghanistan and now we are bitching to NATO for helicopter support!
