That's nice to hear that he's got good breath. Pua's breath is sort of skunky I like it but skunky is the best description I have. It's not strong. No teeth is nice. There have been a couple incidents with claws but accidents. They just dig the big claws in so you just get a couple of small holes in you if they dig both in both of those were due to Pua being scared and she didn't mean it. One incident with Stewie missed a rug I was waving and dug his nail through my thumbnail. Nothing really bad

It must be nice that tamanduas don't have any teeth because Caplin's teeth ARE scary. The one time he bit me was quite traumatic. But luckily he seems to be over that. His breath smells nice. Sometimes it smells like grass and sometimes like yogurt but it's never unpleasant. I kiss him on the nose all the time so I get a reasonable sampling of his breath.

Will Caplin get more winter coat as it cools and get used to the colder weather?

No. His coat always stays the same and it is not very thick. You can see his skin in most places. Even so, capybaras do okay where it gets fairly cold. There are wild ones in parts of Louisiana and it gets below freezing there pretty often.
