So ....you don't need to (just a reminder to what you know) interview both sides to justify your reasoning. You only need 1st principal. I am not an interviewer, so i don't know if this is a "no no" thing to do and will get you "black listed" from future interviewee, but this guy is a complete idiot theist and/or statist. I'm thinking you were surprised to find out he was like this and found out too late and had to go on. But if not, what was the purpose of this?
