@hwhap13 it is always unfair to compare sopranos. they are each different an they approach their music in different manners with different interpretations. Is like comparing Monet with Rembrandt. fortunately they continue singing despite the narrow-minds of the peanut gallery. When I read the critics here, I wonder how in the hell any of them could ever stand on stage.

@gaettatelli Vergogna ! Scotto never could sing this repertoire, she was a lirical-coloratura and here she is totally finished, she has no middle and the top is totally gone, this is shameful performance

Stay in her fach? Ridiculous.She is considered by many to be the last great verista after Olivero.Have u ever heard her as Adriana, Santuzza,Madelena in Andrea Chenier, or her Versimo Arias on Sony?Her version of the aria is a classic as is the whole recital including arias from Iris,Lodoletta,etc.How about her Trittico?Her Francesca?It was NOT 1977 but 1987.Her artistry is still intact but the voice past its prime.Read IoSonoCallas above.If you are going to be bitchy GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!
