Kankuro admitted the Leaf Village ninja are strong? He's a lot nicer in the Shippuden games than the previous ones. (Of course that's true of his character in the anime and manga too.)

It's true of a lot of the characters but not all. Hinata was always kind. Choji, Shikamaru, Ino, TenTen, Lee, etc. weren't very unkind to start with despite some personal flaws. Shino changed a little in wanting to help his team more but nothing very drastic. Kankuro was more of a bully in part one who thought little of the skills of ninja outside of his own village. He's become more thoughtful and considerate towards others. Not as big a change as Gaara or Neji, but still significant.
