I can't believe this !!
you only use a pencil to draw this :O
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
I use this technique for my dragons too and I'm only 14 XP. I'm almost as good as you in line art! But the shadowing is a problem sometimes for me.

Hi, I just spent some time checking out your art on your website and I must say I am very impressed with your Dragons as well as you Tigers. Your spore creations really impressed my 12 yr old son who uses spore. You have a very promising career if you keep up the drawing and practice the light sources.

Very superb drawing. The dragon is truly a marvelous creature to draw. I was caught in awe when you brought it to life. My family too is artistic. My parents like to draw animals and wildlife and my brother like to draw manga. Me , i perfer midevil and dragons as im sure your probably well aware of.
I still need more practice to get as good as you are. Shading especially. Anyways i give this clip a 5/5. Good work man , hope to seeing more dragon drawings in the future.

Thanks for the kudos. I will be uploading some new color techniques clips soon. I have been consumed by soon to be "How to Fantasy creatures and Dragons artbook" for the past year.
Keep on drawing!

Nice dragon Ed. I was wondering but I don't really know what kind of lead I use for shading but when my pictures tend to be loaded with lead and really dark, they reflect light and its pretty annoying. I like my projects to have the full range of black to white so yeah middle tone is not my favorite thing x).Takes foreverrr. I've always thought as smudging as "cheating" when you shade but hey, its hella faster lol. Anything I can use to stop the light reflecting?

Hi, I use the Derwent series drawing graphite 2b mid to dark, 4b softer and darker and HB semi hard for fine gradients. I use a strathmore 300 series paper which cuts down on the reflection as it absorbs into the paper more than coated papers do. As to using Tortillions, you still have to pencil shade those mid to light tones but blending allows for a smoother blend and fine subtleties. Thanks, Ed
