  • @AmmoMaster Exactly!

  • Los Banos is a great town to grow up in. Los Banos means the baths, named by the padres, who would seriouslly call their town the bathrooms

  • Are you asking a question, or telling me that they seriously call their town 'the bathrooms?'

In any case, it was just a joke.

  • People, the direct translation of "Los Banos" from Spanish to English is "The Bathrooms." There's no denying it.

  • Los Banos was not a great town to grow up in.

  • LOL @ the moron who thinks Los Banos means The Rainfall. Now you're just reaching for a new meaning so you little town doesn't look so bad because of it's name. In no way does it translate to "the rainfall" in ANY language.

  • Banos can mean baths, bathrooms and toilets when translated to English, but Los Banos is commonly known as "the bathrooms" in spanish. Despite the explanations as to why the town was named what it was, it still means "the bathrooms." Period. When you ask somone where the bathrooms are, you as "Donde esta los banos?" It doesn't matter if they wanted it to mean baths or not. It's a horrible name for any town, but the town of LB deserves it's name because it is most certainly fitting.

  • Dude get it rite, i was here11yrs it was originaly named "El Arroyo de los Banos del Padre Arroyo" by Padre Felipe Arroyo de la Cuesta whcih TRANSLATED means the creek where -the pools or baths or camping place of Padre Arroyo are located BUT THEN after the Mexican War when all the white people came they couldn't say it sooooo....they shortened the name to "Los Banos Crick" THEN in 1873 "Los Banos", the name of the CREEK was given to the post office and the stage station.
