According to Richard Carpenter, the jingle was written in the Carpenters key, and it worked out perfectly for The Carpenters. The jingle included many special effects including warping of images and intricate zooms, as demonstrated in the image shown at left.
In Close to You: Remembering the Carpenters, Carpenter notes that the backing track for the jingle was previously recorded in the Carpenters' key, but then Karen and Richard recorded their overdubbed vocals. The video was recorded on Yonge Street in Toronto, Canada in 1971 during a major worldwide Carpenters tour.
The Carpenters rarely did commercials, and this advertisement for Morton's Potato Chips was one of only a few commercials they chose to endorse.

  • Well, English is not my native language, but the lyrics are so simple...but I'm sorry if these lyrics are not entirely correct:

    The Carpenters, for Morton's

All fresh up and looking like today

A brand new vision for your eyes

Now you'll hear the new note

To make your day play better

    It's a whole new bag

    It's a whole new sound

So crisp, potato chips by Morton's....

    The really fresh ones..."

  • @Nomuum Great!!!! Many thanks!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing. I really like it. By the way, may I get to know the lyrics, please?(English is not my native language.) Thank you. :)

  • @mrleeok8 English is not my native language, too... =(
