This is some old 8mm film that my cousin and I shot over 40 years ago as a couple of teenagers goofing off with a Sears Roebuck movie camera. We needed some gas while heading home to Gloucester, and stopped by Perley's Service Station for $2 of gas in my Dad's Buick Skylark.
Route 1A appears a lot quietier back then, This building is still there, but has not been a gas station in decades. The price of gas is 34.9 cents for regular, and 37.9 cents for Hi-test. Notice that the Octane rating on the regular is a whooping 94 compared to today's regular of 87!
Sorry for the jerkiness, I played it twice, the second time I slowed it down by 50%
I paid 10 times that today for gas !!!!! Pearley's is just a memory now. Great stuff !
