If you cannot achieve total justice by implementing Quran then what is the point of having the Quran? Sounds like this guy is saying yes we know situation women face today is different to the situation of the past so we would have to make allowances for the Quran. If Quran was eternal then why would you need to do that? Did Allah not foresee a change in such situation for women from the 7th century and deliver rules that did not need humans to make corrections for his short sightedness?

In the UK men are leaving their wives for younger prettier woman and dunmping the wife on the welfare with kids. They are not supporting them and forcing the mother of the children to have to go out and work aswel as raise the children while the kids father makes a new life with a new woman. Islam is not making men stick to their responsibility. Women are suffering even today. The sons get everything the daughters get nothing.

You dont seem to clarify which sons and daughters are entitled to their parents asset or inheritance? What about married daughters do they still get a share?
What about son's wife do they get share from father in laws monies? Or are they only entitles to their husbands?

@sandbag321 I think there is some misunderstanding. Ramadan is not saying to change the rule. He says we must stay true to the principles of Islam. What he is saying is, for example if a woman receives half the inheritance, but is not being cared for by the men in her community, the state or community should recompense her by other means, because she is not getting the care that is her right. The rule of inheritance is still there, but other means (ex taxes) are used to solve the problem.

@sandbag321 I agree

Allah has laid down the rules in the Quran for all times and ages. Quran Is a way of life and is fully relevant to all times. It is the word of Allah. Mr Ramadan keep ur intelligence to urself. No change FOLLOW THE QURAN every word of it, period.

The person can make a will to her daughter, which is taken before what Allah's has given.( Quran 4:11 & 12 "after payment of legacies and debts.")
Allah's basis for division is who is more beneficial to the deceased in monitory term. (Later part of Quran 4:11). A person can make a will on the basis of NEED or SERVICE of a heir, in addition to what he/she will get by Allah's division.
Mr Ramadan sees the social situation of many muslim women in Europe. If you are going against him, it's because you are one of those muslims who want to create a smokescreen for the way you abandon your women. Btw I AM a muslim woman. The situation is such that there are many muslim women who are forced to work and play the role of 'husband' because of the negligence of their own husbands (or fathers, sons etc).

So Society today in the west has become negligent on the welfare of the females to such an extent that females are now forced to work and become the breadwinners. Men have become negligent of their role to provide because of the fierce competition due to capitalism. The importance of Family structure has been lost in order to maintain industrial growth!
This is social chaos
Our current leaders of the world are raping the earth of its resources to please their false ego!
