Watch how the mighty Black Ox appears in Tokyo to destroy its emblem, Tokyo Tower.
During the final days of World War II, the Japanese military is secretly developing a superweapon that will turn the tides of war and save the Japanese Empire. After twenty-seven failed attempts, the project gives fruit: a three-stories high, remote-controlled robot. The metal man is christened Tetsujin 28-go.
The war, however, is over. Rather than becoming the military's "ace in the hole", Tetsujin becomes a civilian robot. Under the control of Shotaro Kaneda, the twelve-year-old son of Tetsujin's developer, the iron giant is put to work stopping criminals and enemy robots.

I saw a Taiwanese version of the movie--up to the point where it froze and locked up my computer (when Shotaro uses the remote control during T-28's first battle with Black Ox)-- with literal subtitles interspersed withTaiwanese place- and people-names. Guess how pleased I was with that disc/version?
I've got a better version (I hope) coming to me from another source, this time a *reliable* one. I'll review the movie afterwards.

@liquidus2172 That didn't stop Bumblebee from ripping out Ravage's spine and other wonderful acts of child-friendly content in the Michael Bay Transformer movies.

@liquidus2172 Yeah, it's kinda funny that around the same time another Tetsujin series was aired on TV. It was MUCH more violent, viewing Tetsujin himself as more of a monster or weapon rather than a hero. In fact, Tetsujin has killed more people and done more property damage than Black Ox.

@AgaiLazen don't forget that this is a movie for kids too, so too much violence is not in order.

@liquidus2172 Still, his "rampage" is kinda disappointing, especially for Black Ox. Most robots tear a hole straight through a city, killing hundreds or thousands of innocent civillians, this is just a few acts of misdemeanor. Sure, folding Tokyo Tower into a pretzel may be an act of terrorism, but he could do worse.
