How about Calvin Schiraldi's 4 consecutive hits...then Bob Stanley throws a WILD PITCH...that Rich Gedman let get by him all the way to the backstop...Sox should have won that game...it shouldn't have come down to Bill Buckner...get off his ass...he was a terrific player...

After two world championships.This guy was release from purgotory.Not so much the fans and I will always be a Sox fan and I remembering watching game six on a Saturday night by myself and actually being sober just so I can watch a world series winner but also getting the feeling as the game started something wasn't going to end well.I just bypassed it and knew Buckner wasn't the reason why the game didn't end well.If they didn't win one.Buckner would always be a big reason why were there.

@blkchk You really are a fucking ignorant moron. The Red Sox invited Buckner in prior years but he declined. Of course you don't know that because you like to spout off without knowing the facts. And also you don't know that it was the national media that built up the bogus legend of the error, not the "Boston fans". On Opening Day in 1990, which was FOUR YEARS after the error, Buckner acknowledged that he received the largest standing ovation of all players.

Here's the thing that a lot of people don't realize....let's say that Buckner caught the ball and made the out at first. The inning would be over, the game would still be tied. Anybody's ball game after that.
