great player to watch ,but dont put him up there with messi ,he was better than becks and those also rans for sure ,but england have a history of wasting talent ,hoddle,bowles, ,le tiss ,joe cole got this kind of thing coached out of him ,footballers like frank win matches not athletes,athletes keep you in the game ,

@dibble12003 You are 100% correct. I can say without one bit of hype that Frank Worthington was one of the 4 or 5 greatest players I have ever seen. For pure instinctive talent he rates with the very greatest. With Best, Platini, with any of them. Look at that goal. Two footed, calm and insightful. Classic Frank. Your point about Messi is right. Given High Def instant slo mo on manicured pitches with no tackling from behind and we'd have seen a hell of a lot of Frank on youtube as well.

Can you imagine how animated people would be if Messi scored that goal today. It would be played endlessly on TV. Pure class! That's why people say that football isn't what it used to be and we never had to pay a fortune to go and watch.
