This is the tech demo for FFVIII if SquareEnix were to put it on the PS2. This is only a tech demo, just like FFVII's Tech Demo for the PS3. Its entertaining and awesome :3 It would have looked really good on the PS2.
-[Info from FinalFantasy.Wikia]-
The Final Fantasy VIII Technical Demo is a remake of the ballroom dance scene of Final Fantasy VIII for the PlayStation 2. It was released in 1999. The tech demo features Squall Leonhart and Rinoa Heartilly re-enacting the famous waltz scene to the music of Waltz for the Moon. The sequence appears just as it did in the game, except with no visible polygons or slowdown. The tech demo is showcasing what the game could have looked like if it were remade for the PlayStation 2.

SquareEnix made other tech demos in the past and future like for FFIV for the PlayStation and FFVII for the PS3. They officially stated they are not going to make any remake of the games, although there are rumors flying around.
I disabled comments because there were a lot of arguments on what is the best Final Fantasy game and others not worth mentioning.
