  • Lived and breathed these badasses at Gabes Oasis in IC for several years back in the day. Best god damned small club rock show ever.... and I mean every single time HOLS played there.

  • Stebs. After all these years I'm still haunted by one especially strange and wonderful bit of bathroom graffiti in that doomed place -- "LOTBO SCISSORTITS". It was accompanied by a sketch of a woman?/man? with scissors where the, uh, tits should be.

  • Great times at Stebs watching these guys. I would do anything to see one of their shows then and now. Hope they play again the reunion shows last year were awesome.

  • HOLS was one of several very talented and original early 90's midwest bands that didn't blow up nationally despite a dedicated regional following. Trying to describe HOLS sound is difficult because they really didn't sound like anyone else. They were an awesome live act and this video is a testament to that. The sound on the video is amazing for being recorded on what appears to be a camcorder.

  • Oh, wow. I was there. It was 20 years ago this week!

  • Wow...video with Dave Berg. I graduated from UNI in 1989,but was there 86-89.

    Still miss Stebs,too. Can't believe it's gone...

  • long live stebs!

  • Awesome! I lived in Iowa in the 80's and 90's, and HOLS was one of the best bands around! Contemporaries of the Melvins, early roots of grunge / stoner rock!
