to do a long duration hi-hat sound you need to have 2 pedals or you just hit it harder than normal?

You are way nervous buddy. You need to learn to have a better "stage prescence". I think with more practice, and more confidence in your drumming skills as they progress, then the right stage prescence will come. Right now I don't think you are ready for YouTube...but getting there.

The Ion drum rocker is about $300, the DM5 around 225 on ebay...

Well, I felt the best cover I have done was my Taking over me (If you havent't seen it) I drop the stick about 2:10 into it. I re-did it, but it wasnt as good so I posted the "best" one. Check it out.

ya the snare is a dual zone by Alesis. You can hear the rim shot sound on my Incubus - Drive cover.
