Newburgh Community Trust are starting a project to site 3 wind turbines in the community. We are in the process of filming and editing a short film featuring local people talking about this community based project; the first community wind development in the east of Scotland. Here's a brief trailer. For more information visit www.newburghct.org.uk

  • What a dodgy deal this is. The Community Trust still sticks its head in the sand to misinform the public that no issues have been identified. UNTRUE. The plan is ruinous in landscape terms and that's the end of the story. Doesn't matter what a couple of old codgers say on a video...it would be an eyesore. Mind you it has been a nice little earner for some involved :-) But less happy for the old taxpayer who funded the feasibilty study into a scheme judged unfeasible from day 1!

  • @Nemesis7658 Thanks for taking the time to comment. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and anonymity makes for brave, reckless assertions. It would be great to see some evidence or rationale for objection. Even better, if we could all see an alternative which could deliver the same amount of energy and community benefit. But in this democracy, rightly, we value the opposing opinion. So thanks again for expressing your opinion by the way of a comment.

  • A piece of propaganda. Nice town with a clique determined to ruin it for financial advantage. This will not get passed by planning. Scottish Natural Heritage told Newburgh Community Trust 2 years ago that this entire scheme was flawed given the sensitive landscape yet still they lie and state that no impact has been identified. In the meantime 300k has been wasted. Now they have flooded planning with two line letters of support wrung out of the old folk at their coffee morning. Pathetic.

  • @Toast394 Thanks for taking the time to post a comment. Your view of both the old folk of Newburgh and the Community Trust is questionable and I am impressed by your confidence in the implied veto powers of SNH.

only time will tell. Thanks again for taking the time to comment

  • @LittleChrissie That's strange what happened to the comment that was here earlier stating that nemesis was going to inform SNH about your imprudent comments? Why shouldn't the public be aware of the criticisms from the governments regulator on landscape? Seems mysteriously to have vanished into this air! Puff!!!

  • @DownwithNCT Hi there, the comment was deleted because of the attempt to defame an individual. Not because of the implied threat to me to grass me up to "the governments regulator".

  • Dear Inner Guard

Could you let me know why my, I felt, perfectly reasonable post has been blocked. If there is to be reasoned debate there must be a level application of reason.

  • As on another site I must question the need for hiding behind silly names. I read a comment on this subject where some really clever ? individual advised his followers where to find a telephone number of someone who did not share "The No Way's" views. Na na ni na na. Just in case I get a visit from a group of individuals wearing white sheets with bits cut out for them to see through I too am using a silly name. Perhaps Sean Connery might call or Mel Gibson or even better Hannah Gordon.

  • I think the anti's need to realise that SNH can only give an opinion in these matters. Their word is not gospel and it does not need to be acted upon. They will always oppose any development in the countryside, no matter what it is, as that is their remit. Planning committees know this and treat SNH accordingly. SNH saying they don't like this project is predictable but in no way makes it "unfeasable".

By the way, turbines do not "ruin" the landscape. They make it more interesting imo :)

  • Seems to be same folk constatntly posting. Have a ballot, let democracy do its bit if you win ...so be it. If you lose live with it
