CBM's 10 Millionth Cataract Surgery

With the help of people like you, CBM is about to reach an unprecedented milestone: our 10 millionth cataract surgery! Since we performed our first cataract surgery in Afghanistan in 1966, CBM has worked tirelessly to reach people suffering from cataracts in the world's most disadvantaged societies. People who are on the edge of survival have to additionally contend with loss of education, loss of ability to support themselves and their families, and lack of acceptance into their communities. Not to mention the obvious -- that their chances of physical survival drastically spiral downward.
