Fantastic! heatercore replaced! Thank you, you rock!

Very well done, I was wanting to change the vacum hose on my 1997 ford escort, looks like all I have to do is remove the glove compartment but if ever I have to do the heater core I'll know what to do. The 1997 modle isn't much different. I saw someone else do a heater core once on a van. He was not thrilled to do it. Good to have a refresher course.

that would suck putting back together if you remember where all the wires and screws in the right place.

Expert detailed Video!! Took work just to do the video right...Very precise; great close ups and time precise! I wish you had done an 80s Towncar. My nightmare would be after the job, i.e.-- Oh oh how come the whatcha ma call it doesn't work? OMG I forgot to hook up something. Gotta tear it all apart again#*(*!@!! OR why do I still have 6 bolts laying around?

I think I'd rather tear apart this car's transmission than tackle that job. Looks like lots of opportunities to break brittle plastic. You sir are a master mechanic!

is the 4 bolts the only thing needed to be done to remove the steering column?
tfchui 2 months ago
@tfchui Yes but be careful when you drop it down.I did this job three times because of inferior cores and on the 3rd time the column pulled the ignition partly apart.Which resulted in the engine trying to start when the battery cable was installed.

@richpin06a THANK YOU!!! i was able to download this video, stick it on my phone and use it while i was talking apart my console. This video saved me $650 in labor fees at a mechanic and it was fun as hell!! Everything is reconnected perfectly, heater core blows extremely hot air! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!
