In this series I will show discuss and display the items that I keep in my Survival Backpack. You may call it a BOB (bug out bag), GHB (get home bag), 72 hour kit, or any other name. Basically this is a ready to go system that is made up of smaller kits that can help me to survive away from home, and ideally in the wilderness. There are many other videos on YouTube on this same subject. If this interests you spend some time watching many of them to get an overall view of the kits. Each person will pack it a little differently, so the more you see the better you can prepare your kit. As always, thanks for watching!

  • i would recomend putting a small knife sharpener in your pack because the last thing you want is for your blade to lose its edge

  • That 5-qt bladder/canteen makes a great pillow, when you blow it up with air ...

... You can also put warm (not too hot) water in there and use it as a teddy-bear, on cold nights.

  • What is the make and model of the flashlight and velcro case? Thanks.

  • @mokyan7 dryer lint is a perfect fire starter if the wood is dry, I keep a bag in my bug out bag. It won't do much good for wet fire though.

I liked this series, I just don't like borrowing items from my bug out bag for camping or hiking.

  • @TheBossJMV Yeah I was going to suggest that too. They got small hatchets at wal-mart for cheap.

  • You should try fire pistons

  • great videos! i havent gotten the opportunity to go backpacking for days and im really looking forward to one day. your videos really help and ive learned alot.

  • love the vids i watched all 5 parts i cant remember if u had safety pins or not but if u didn't u should add some they can fix coth or used as fish hook i know u have lots of fish hook so just my toughts love the vid

  • This is a great series, thanks for the great ideas. I need to update my pack, and have put a few shirts and extra socks and underwear in it so it can be used for 'non emergency' inconvenience times too.

Also what about using dryer lint for extra tinder, and some super glue in your first aid kit (for cuts, or whatever may come up...)

I like CLIF's chocolate chip peanut bars, and also the CLIF Mojo PB or the Mt. Mix are good bars. So are Nature Valley Granola bars.

    Also, nice gloves there.

  • Do you have a camp axe or hatchet? It's like the number one most useful tool for camping, hiking, survival, ect.
