If you watch, Dean plays his snare really close to the rim and also at a low angle. If you can be accurate and are looking for a specific sound from your snare, you can tune the edges a bit differently. I am sure that the combination of those two and the fact that he plays hard attribute to quite a few stick breaks.

Why do you always rim shot the snare dude?! surely tilting it towards you a bit more would help save on sticks AND you can get a better and more varied tone ... I know its personal preference though! Just a thought :D BTW YOU ROCK.

Jason McGerr from DCFC is the drummer on this track I'm pretty sure, and he is awesome. You did a great job covering someone as good as him, as well as you always impress. Keep it up!
