How in the world do you blend the colors like that? When I try it just makes a huge mess and looks stupid, you could still see brush marks and when I try to blend it more the brush pushes the paint away leaving white(the paper) to show. I'm frustrated about it!

Hey there, I do a lot of mixing right on the canvas...not too conventional a technique i know but it works for some things...try not to get too thick too fast. Cool and dark colors thin first. from there build up SLOWLY.
