A length of Copper wire is stretched by adding weights to one end across a pulley. The experiment is fairly crude in terms of measurements, but serve to illustrate, qualitatively, the stiffness and strength of copper wire, it's elastic behaviour, plastic behaviour and yield, as well as creep.

  • The video was a great example of ductility, I just wish it had both narration talking about ductility and the new lengths and thickness of the wire before snapping. Excellent angles and design on the experiment.

  • Nice work, very useful for teaching for A-level physics
