Is the third member whining wtf? They all make noise, it aint some weak GM or Ford diff. Yes even that glorified Ford 9inch is pathetic compared to a 8.75. Back in the day top fuel guys running thousands of blown hemi power used 8.75 with their man junk dangling an inch away. That should tell you something.

Those were tested at high 14 sec 1/4 mile times in 1969 with the stock rubber compound tires back then. What do you think the more accurate times would be with modern rubber? In looking at old test clips of old muscle cars it looks like a good 2 seconds were spent trying to get traction. Todays cars like the camaro a mustang seem to get real good lockup right off the line. Are M car times underrated?

I've got a 1969 383 Road Runner in my garage nearly identical to this one, except for my B5 paint and a black interior. I do have one question for you Jeff. I have always seen '69 Road Runners with the black stripes down the hood, but mine has the '68 style black square on the hood instead. Is this something that could have been done by the factory? Or does it sound like a repaint or hood replacement was done at some point?

I couldn't swear to anything but '68's had the hood you are discribing and '69's had this style...

Nice Road Runner! I do have a question reguarding the Magnum 500 wheels, though. I thought that in 1969 and later years the wheels were no longer all chrome, but had a aluminum trim ring on them instead. Am I correct? I too must convince my wife of the necessity of such a toy, but I think some 401k money needs to be spent before i'm too old. Great car....Beep beep!

Yes, most cars will have 15" repro Magnums. They look a little better than the
14" originals with trim rings.I can tell you from personal experience that these toys are priceless to big boys like you and me! Don't wait. It's a blast!
