To prevent catching an edge, NEVER ride with your board flat on the ground, ride on an edge.

thank goodness I've been looking for tips (just saying im am a beginner) so i can make most of my trip with school torrmow and really want to take snow boarding to the next step. Thanks best tip so far :)

i ride with my knees locked. too tiring to have them bent, and more comfortable with knees locked and chest facing forward.

I ALLWAYS catch an edge and go flying when i try to go straight like that.

Glad I'm not the only one that can't go straight without wiping badly. Tried it this weekend on some flat striaght sections and let's just say my shoulder is still sore 2 days later. I can go kinda straight if I'm carving on an edge ever so slightly, but sometimes when the run is really narrow that isn't an option. Really tough to do.

@silus2000 best way to avoid that is to out slight more weight and or pressure on like your toes so you have a slight lean ; )

@silus2000 gotta get comfy with it first

@silus2000 difinitely stay on an edge.. thats why your'e board is catching. DID IT ALL THE FREAKIN TIME, -__-
