It was February--Valentine's Day-- or as we say, Singles Awareness Day -- a big day in Minnesota because they are cautious people. And they get all giddy and before you know it they've bought a calligraphy pen and they're writing poems in big loopy letters on rose-petal paper-- just like Mrs. Hansen who came to see me...

Recorded live at the Fitzgerald Theater, Saint Paul, MN, February 14, 2009. Script and more information available at www.prairiehome.org

  • i love this show!!!!!

  • good stuff :)

  • So, what was the thing about taking "the 12th floor of the Acme building" out of the open for this bit?

(I used to describe Wikipedia as being 'on the 12th floor of the Acme Building in downtown Tampa', which was very nearly accurate. :-)

  • Classic

  • I remember hearing this when I was little, and still turn it on the radio to this day since it first went on the air :P

  • We you used to bring the cassette tape recording of them every time we went on holiday. To this day I still laugh my head off.

  • I love Prairie Home Companion!! :D

  • Too funny!!!

  • its so cool seeing the voices i hear every weekend come out of faces.

  • It was exactly a year ago today when I first heard PHC and it was Guy Noir that was on when I first heard it. Have been addicted since. Keep it up Garrison
