She is the female Nick Drake of 1980s - - -

When she was Interviewed in England (1987) she explained that the song was about suffering from mental health issues & depression, I find it obvious regarding the incoherency of the lyrics and the sharp clarity of detail to insignificant mundane environments.

This woman has her fingers on the human pulse.

miss this song a lot, like the rapping part of song especially.
This song reminds me when I used to live in Manhattan, used to walk down the street in a cold winter morning, and I could feel the precious golden morning sun beaming down my face...

@cvmiata She is saying her biological clock is ticking an, after so many failed love affairs doesn't know if she will ever find the energy to continue looking. However with that said, this one time one night stand might develop into something, so lets see if we have anything in common, no. Anyway that's my guess.

Thank you so much for posting this. "Cracking" is the first Suzanne Vega song I ever heard and this version is every bit as lovely. I'm listening at 2 a.m., the rest of the family is asleep, and I feel like I just found buried treasure.
