@LoserSVK Because the battery technology doesn't exist that has the same energy density as petrol. This still makes sense - run a generator at a single optimal rpm as needed to extend range and use motors as the drive. In theory this should be capable of >100 mpg, which is way better than burning the fuel directly. The all-electric car isn't just around the corner, so we need intermediate steps like this.

I dont like this concept really. If they put there high efficiency HUB motors+batterys why they killed it with stupid petrol generator with low efficienty?
