I agree the 1st season was awkward, but it's part of why I love it. I like it a lot more than the other seasons. Granted I haven't seen too much of them.

The entire first season of Charles in Charge was awkward. The show didn't exactly have it's voice yet. Mr. Pembroke acted so strangely to how he related to the kids and what he thought Charles should do. It was just... weird... the whole season. It wasn't until the show went into syndication in season 2 that it became the show we all know and love now!
