Y'all should try to find Booker T and the MG's instrumental version of this. They wrote it and were the band on Albert King's original. In fact, the story of this song is that Booker T wrote the main riff on organ and had Steve Cropper play it on guitar. So, in actuality, Cropper was the first to play that famous riff, although Booker wrote it. When Booker T and the MG's put their version on one of their albums, Cropper does the solo. It's outstanding.

I always enjoyed that Buzzy Feiten, but this guy has own style. Along with Paul Butterfield is wordless.

Born Under a Bad Sign indeed became a bar blues band staple. Can't forget Cream's influential version though.
Sure would like to hear Buzz release some kind of blues album - or something along lines of first Full Moon record. Any plans?

great version of a classic

thanks dude; Sid McGinnis turned me on to Buzz when he played with Felix in the Rascals!!
Butterfield covered this on the 'Resurrection of pigboy crabshaw' which featured no harmonica but good work by Bishop on guitar plus Naftalin on organ and also the 3 man horn section. Two years later Butterfield performed this at Woodstock with Feiten on guitar.I find this video interesting- good even, with the short harmonica burst at the end.Worth hearing is the verson by English trio Cream which had more than a hint of menace to it.

Yes, "Bad Sign" is a great song. Albert King did the first popular version of it and it was written by Booker T and Willie Bell. Every band I ever saw in a bar in the late 60's early 70's did a cover of this. Great Song
