Dxtory Tutorial - A better way to record on PC

The trial version is free unlimited use but the videos are watermarked. I believe if you download the 1.0 version it is free and not watermarked, but I have never used it.

My PC specs because someone will ask
Intel i5 750 @ 3.6 Ghz
EVGA Nvidia GTX 460 1 GB
8 GB of some kind of RAM (who cares)
3 Samsung F3 1 TB hard drives (1 OS drive, 2 to record)

How to estimate needed write speed for video

RGB24 YUV24:
Width x Height x 3 x fps = bitrate (byte/sec)

YUV420：
Width x Height x 3 / 2 x fps = bitrate (byte/sec)

YUV410：
Width x Height x 9 / 8 x fps = bitrate (byte/sec)

Example 720p at 30 fps
YUV410：
1280 x 720 x 9 / 8 x 30 = bitrate (byte/sec)

Issues with Adobe Premiere not importing multiple audio streams? Some possible workarounds.

From jayekaiser in the comments here: "There is a work-around for the audio stream issue, get audacity and install the ffmpeg library. You can then export the audio tracks from your .avi file, and import them manually into premiere - works like a charm!"

Another solution would be to import the file into a program like Sony Vegas or VirtualDub and export the audio streams separately.

One final workaround, In dxtory there is a tool called AVImux, green box bottom left. With it you can export individual audio tracks or mix your 2 tracks into a single audio track and adjust the volumes before mixing.

Im using Dxtroy so long and it's much better that FRAPS.
