Hi everyone! I have two dogs (one a beagle mix,the other a big labrador retriever mix) and yesterday,we got a cat. His adoption card said he's good with dogs, but when we introduced them, the cat started growling a little and at one point he hissed. They didn't have physical contact, but they were within a foot of each other. Is it normal for cats to hiss and be territorial around other animals? PLEASE ANSWER SOON!!!

interesting, was actually looking for the animal language institute, more outta curiousity but dig the channel. Coincidentlly thinking of bringin' in 2 large polydactyl cats mostly in the house and have 2 dogs (rott and not sure what the other is) that mostly stay in the yard.

Cats need more time to acclimate than dogs. You must first let your cat get comfortable in it's new home, without dogs at least for a day. Then slowly introduce your dog\s for about an hour or so the next day

Kitty does not have any front claws. His previous owners left him outside to fend on his own for about 3 months. The other two cats had all their claws.
