A video that follows me while I install an Arlen Ness Softail lowering kit on my Harley. Naturally, this is how I do it. I don't claim to be an expert in anything so take my instructions with a grain of salt. Work on your bike at your own risk...

  • Why have you only lowered your swing arm just past the frame? After I installed mine I dropped it so that the nylock nut had one exposed thread at the top, low as it can get basically. I am just curious as to why you only chose to drop it a small amount?

  • @TeamSMQ Its pretty low, in fact, it bottoms out quite often while riding solo... like when crossing railroad tracks. You have to adjust to your riding weight...

  • @LesAffairesWeb Yes, I think you are spot on, thanks again.

  • @TeamSMQ I don'know, it just screws right back in normally... You might have damaged the thread when removing them...

  • Thanks so much for this mate! I shoulda googled first before I got started. I removed my locking nuts and for some reaso they will not go back on. No big deal as I will get two more but I am curious as to why this would have happened? Any ideas?

  • This is a great video. Going to give this a shot on my bike this weekend :-)

  • Terrific video, thanks for your help
