To all the people out there that are arguing whether or not it's cool for a polar bear to swim 400km or not, that's not the question or the debate. Whether it's right or wrong makes no sense...the bear's home is being completely fucked up, we can't expect our polar bears to swim for the rest of their lives just because they can. It's about their homes. Not their swimming ability. =) Thank you for coming back to reality.

these bears can swim like 400km and they hunt whales in the water. i'm not too worried about them drowning
@BroncoLion Polar bears are NOT thriving. As of 2005, 5 bear populations were declining, 5 were stable, and 2 were growing. A mere four years later, in 2009, 8 were declining, 3 were stable, and 1 was growing. The polar bear population of Hudson Bay declined 22% since the early 1980's. There was a growth phase back 50-60 years ago when hunting was tightened, but now the numbers are declining, and declining fast.

@archangel Here's the problem with your numbers: To be considered a scientist, you really have to have a PhD. So, you're only talking about a max of 9,000 REAL scientists. Other signers of the Oregon Petition (to which you are referring) were medical doctors, people with Masters or Bachelor's degrees and even veterinarians! Would you take your vet's advice on global warming? Probably not. The Oregon Petition was signed by THIRTY-SOME real climatologists. The consensus is pro-warming.
